Check a New Jersey battery site before you spend on it.
GridArb is a fast first check, not a bank-ready study. It tells you which sites are worth a $75,000 study deposit and a consultant, and which to drop today.
Tell GridArb the site and battery. It tests two years of real PJM prices, adds capacity, Regulation and NJ incentives, and shows cost, payback and the grid-connection picture.
PSEG day-ahead prices for 2026-10-12, with a 1 MW / 2 MWh battery's charge and sell hours.
How it works
Tell GridArb the site and battery
Address or zone, MW, hours and how it connects. One question at a time; the site profile fills in as you go.
The engine tests it on real prices
2024 and 2025 PJM day-ahead prices for all four NJ zones, then capacity, Regulation, GSESP, ITC and the NREL cost benchmark or your quote, each with low / base / high.
You get the picture before you spend
Where to build, which size and duration, revenue, cost and payback, the grid-connection check, and what is not modelled. A screening check, not a bank-ready study.
An example answer
You: What would a 1 MW, 2-hour battery in PSEG have earned in 2025?
On 2025 day-ahead prices it would have earned about $93,570 a year: $14,806 from energy arbitrage (80% of the $18,508 perfect-foresight ceiling) and $34,994 from capacity at ELCC 0.59. At the NREL benchmark it costs $953,764, or $667,635 after the 30% ITC, so simple payback is not within 15 years.
Computed just now by GridArb's engine from stored PJM prices. Not modelled: interconnection upgrades, permits, vendor quotes. This is a recommendation; you decide.

Why you can check the numbers
Prices are PJM's own day-ahead and real-time LMPs for AECO, JCPL, PSEG and RECO. Capacity uses PJM auction results and ELCC ratings; costs use the NREL Annual Technology Baseline. The method and its limits are written up in every report, and the daily forecasts are scored in public on the track record.
GridArb gives recommendations. It does not bid into PJM or sign anything for you.
Questions
- Does GridArb bid for me?
- No. GridArb recommends: where to build, what size, and what it earns. It never bids into PJM, signs anything, moves money or contacts anyone for you. You decide and you execute.
- What do I get for $500?
- The full report for one site: two years of real PJM prices through the dispatch engine, capacity, Regulation and NJ incentives with low / base / high, cost and payback at the NREL benchmark or your quote, the grid-connection picture, and a note from GridArb after a human review. Delivered as a private link within 24 hours of payment.
- Where do the numbers come from?
- Real PJM day-ahead and real-time prices for the four New Jersey zones, PJM capacity auction results and ELCC rules, and NREL Annual Technology Baseline cost benchmarks. Every report names its sources. The assistant may only repeat numbers that GridArb's engine produced in your conversation.
- Are the revenue numbers a promise?
- No. They are backtests on two years of real prices. Energy arbitrage is shown at 80% of perfect foresight, and the 15-year view gives low, base and high scenarios. Interconnection upgrade costs, permits and real vendor quotes are not modelled.
